- 27/03/2008: A small train accident has caused for much trouble and anxiety amongst the population. An empty passenger train collided at low speed into a waiting freight-train at the Dordt-switchyard. This caused the derailment of one of the freightcars, which was thought to be filled with Chloride. The passenger train had some minor damage, as did the locomotive of the freight train. When arriving at the scene the special Hazmat unit carried out a series of tests and it was apparent there was nothing leaking from the freightcar. Soon thereafter the train operator came with a positive announcement: the car wwas not loaded, they just had forgotten to remove the dangerous goods-signs on the car.

- 07/08/2008: During heavy rainfalls and severe thunderstorms, one of the cities major tunnels-Bootlek tunnel on Highway 15- flooded and caused major havoc on traffic around the city, resulting in major cues on all of the City highway ring. First the Highway agency tried to get the water out of the tunnel with 10 high-speed vacuum trailers, but this did not gave the desired affect. After an hour the Regional Disaster Scheme (DSR) was implemented and WCFB had to turn out with large equipment to empty the tunnel. The pumps in the tunnel were no longer operating due to a lightning strike into the control-building and that fried all electronics. First call for WCFB was at 10:25 and the last unit to leave the scene was at 21:48 CET.
